Dr. Bruce Utterback graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1979 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1985. He served for three years as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Dental Corps at Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base in Norfolk, VA and for one year as a civilian dentist at Sewell’s Point.
 
Dr. Utterback began private practice in Virginia Beach, VA in 1989.  He continues to increase his knowledge in all areas of dentistry, but particularly enjoys educating his patients by performing complete and comprehensive treatment plans. Being an outdoorsman, Dr Utterback enjoys running, bicycling and kayaking.
It’s been over 35 years since I first put a mirror in a patients mouth.
 
As I reflect on what I think patients want, it is good clinical and diagnostic skills and an honest assessment of what my problems are and how to solve them. I’ve tried to provide that over the years I have practiced and hope to have the opportunity to do so for my current and future patients.
